GENERAL

1How far away is the farm from a town, and which one?
The farm is situated almost exactly between Riviersonderend and Greyton on the R406. ± 20 minutes in either direction.
2Do you need an off-road/raised or 4x4 vehicle to get to the farm?
Any vehicle can make it to the farm, we will send you directions prior to your visit that will send you along the best and shortest gravel road. You only need a 4x4 vehicle to complete the 4x4 routes.
3Can we bring our dogs?
Kromrivier Farm is not pet friendly. This is to protect your animals as well as the livestock on the farm. But, don’t be surprised if you run into the four resident farm dogs or pet sheep that thinks she’s a dog.
4What time is Check-in and Check-out?
Check-in: 14:00 Check-out: 10:00
5What is the cancellation policy?
To confirm your booking, 100% of the accommodation costs is required. If you cancel more than 7 days before arrival, you will receive a full refund. If you would like to change the dates of your visit or cancel your visit, if done so less than 7 days before arrival you will forfeit 100% of the accommodation costs.
6Is the water on the farm safe to drink?
Yes, the water is regularly tested and although it has a slight colour to it, it is 100% safe to drink.
7How far away is the water fall?
The water fall is at the beginning/end of mountain circular route. It is ±2.5km from the campsite and the Trout cottage, ±3km from the Oak Lodge and ± 3.5km from Morado.
8Are there on-call recovery crews for the 4x4 routes?
No. We suggest that the 4x4 route not be attempted by single vehicles.

CAMPSITE

1Can we set up anywhere or do you assign sites?
We assign your site, firstly based on group size and then first come first serve in terms of shade.
2How many people can we fit into a campsite?
We don’t work like traditional campsites. Our campsites are all different sizes and spaced out generously. You tell us how many people you will be and we will assign the campsite that can comfortably fit that number.
3Is there electricity, any communal power points or fridges at the campsite?
No, our campsites are completely off the grid.
4Can we play music at the campsite?
So all guests can appreciate the tranquility of the farm, we have a no music policy and a low noise policy after 22:00.
5Can we swim and fish in the dam?
You are more than welcome to swim in the dam, unfortunately this dam does not have fish, but other dams on the farm have bass and tilapia.
6Do you supply braai grids?
No, there are braai pits at every campsite but you must bring your own braai equipment.
7Do you supply camping equipment?
No, you need to bring all your camping equipment with you.
8Is there WiFi?
As there is no electricity at the site, there is no WiFi, but the signal at the campsite is quite strong in most places, depending on whether it is overcast or not.

COTTAGES

Oak Lodge:

1Is there electricity?
No, the Oak Lodge is an off the grid farm stay. We supply lanterns for light and powerbanks that can charge cell phones, tablets and some laptops. A generator can be organised, but will need to be organised beforehand and additional costs are involved.
2Is there WiFi?
As there is no electricity at the Oak Lodge, there is no WiFi. Signal is also quite spotty, but there are a few spot in the garden where you can reach the outside world.
3Are there braai facilities?
Yes, there are indoor and outdoor braai facilities. All braai equipment is also supplied.
4What appliances are in the Oak Lodge?
There is a gas fridge and gas stove, as well as, all needed cooking equipment, utensils, crockery and cutlery. There is no oven.
5Do we need to bring linen and towels?
No, all linen and towels are supplied for your stay.
6What do you supply in the Oak Lodge?
In the kitchen we supply salt, pepper and sugar. Blitz and matches are also supplied. In the bathrooms hand soap and toilet paper is supplied. All wood needed for the outdoor geyser is supplied.

Morado:

1Is there electricity?
Yes. Solar panels power the cottage. There are only a few limitations to the system, such as hair dryers and toasters, but this list will be indicated during the booking process.
2Is there WiFi?
Yes, uncapped WiFi is available to guests
3Are there braai facilities?
Yes, there is an outdoor braai pit. All braai equipment is also supplied. While, there is not an indoor braai facility, there is a fire place to keep the cottage warm.
4What appliances are in the Morado?
The kitchen in Morado is fully equipped with all needed cooking equipment, utensils, crockery and cutlery. Appliances include: Fridge/freezer, free standing gas stove and oven and stove top kettle.
5What do you supply in Morado?
In the kitchen we supply salt, pepper, coffee (instant and filter), a selection of teas and sugar. One bag of wood for the fire place is supplied, more can be supplied at an additional cost. Blitz and matches are also supplied. In the bathroom, all essentials are supplied including shampoo, conditioner, soap and bath salts are supplied.
6Can we swim and fish in the dam?
You are more than welcome to swim and fish in this dam.

The Shed:

1Is there electricity?
No, we supply lanterns for light. A generator can be organised, but will need to be organised beforehand and additional costs are involved.
2Are there braai facilities?
Yes, there are indoor and outdoor braai facilities. We do not supply braai equipment.
3Are linen and towels supplied?
Only fitted sheets are placed on each bed, all other bedding will need to be brought along. No towels are supplied.
4Can you book beds in the Shed separately to the Oak Lodge.
No, the shed is used only as extra beds for large events held at the Oak Lodge.
